Financial Services Administrator/Accounts Assistant Job Description
A post has arisen for a dual role of experienced Financial Services Administrator and Accounts Assistant to be part of our client servicing team in an established and successful financial planning firm based in Darlington.
The role is to provide administrative support to our advisers enabling us to provide our clients with a positive professional experience and to assist our Accounts Manager with the daily accounting needs of the business.
As a Financial Services Administrator your role will include:
- Obtaining current fund values for investments and creating reports from this information for our clients in accordance with their expectations.
- To help meet deadlines, client needs and regulatory requirements.
- To contribute to the organisation and planning by making the best use of resources (e.g., The company’s Client Management System)
- To undertake general administrative duties (e.g., scanning, filing, preparing letters etc) to ensure that deadlines are met, appropriate records are maintained and are accessible, to comply with regulatory compliance.
- To update and check the online diary each day to ensure that we meet our client’s requirements enabling customer satisfaction to be maintained.
- To provide administrative support to the advisers to ensure that customer service is of the highest standard enabling regulatory requirements to be met.
- To assist the Accounts Manager with daily accounting needs
To be the successful candidate you will need:
- Experience as a Financial Services Administrator would be preferred, but training will be provided to an experienced administrator from an alternative finance background
- Excellent IT skills including the use of Outlook, Word and Excel and Sage Accounting Software
- Knowledge and experience of audio typing
- High level of numeracy
- Excellent telephone and written communication skills and the ability to structure clear and informative emails and letters without the use of templates
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Accurate typing and data entry skills

The working hours will be:
- The office is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
- The job is initially part-time, 21 hours per work, days and working hours to be agreed
Salary Range:
- £23,000 to £25,000 pro rata (£13,800 to £15,000 for 21 hours per week)
